Mountain

Bohdin spent a lot of time with a shovel to make a mountain for himself.  He didn't really do much with it once it was constructed but that may be because he became distracted with the idea of the sprinkler.  It was a little too cold for the sprinkler but they had fun trying anyway.  After dinner we all went for a walk and Buddy discovered the path that links our neighborhood to the trails of the nearby park.  I can't believe it took us over two years to find it.  We walked to the playground there but couldn't stay long.  Nyla needed to pee, Cora didn't have shoes, and it was getting dark.  On the way home Bohdin declared it an amazing adventure.  I hope we take advantage of the trails often.




Nyla likes to create art and her recent art has feautured more drawing instead of painting.  It has become impossible to paint with Cora around so Bohdin and Nyla have to paint when she is asleep.  Nyla is able to draw when Cora is awake since Cora will use her own paper for that.  Nyla's current art features a lot of letters.  She likes to put some random letters in somewhere.

Bohdin's art from his art lesson several weeks ago.  The bright blue building is a power plant and the black line is the electrical lines.  The poles are light purple.  One house and one roof fell off due to bad glue. 



Bohdin has been enjoying the spring weather by reading outside.  Nyla doesn't like that he's reading so much because he won't play Playmobil with her.   Today he read three books.  He goes through spurts and today was a reading day.  Since it became windy in the afternoon they did have fun flying "kites".  One kite was a plastic bag with a piece of yarn attached and one was a piece of paper with yarn.  They also used a store bought sort of kite but Nyla didn't like it after it hurt her neck.  She ended up with rope burn after it somehow scraped her neck. 


The drywall will be finished tomorrow.  Nyla is the most excited for the upcoming bathroom.  She hates climbing the stairs when she has to pee.  Too bad the stairs aren't a deterrent from her changing multiple times per day.  I can see where her priorities lie.  Perhaps by the end of next week Nyla will no longer have to hold her pee for hours.
