Bohdin said one of  his favorite parts of Easter is decorating eggs so we bought five dozen eggs with the intention of doing one dozen per day through Saturday.  With the exception of yesterday they did follow the plan.  The first day I thought it would be better if Cora wasn't around so I let Bohdin and Nyla do the eggs themselves while I put Cora to sleep.  I was apprehensive but it turned out fine.  The next day they did it while Cora was awake and amazingly she stayed away.  She watched for a while from the floor and then wandered off.  I thought she might be getting sick because that is so unlike her.  She wasn't sick and I can't explain her behavior. 

In the picture below Cora is wearing her absolute favorite dress.  If she sees it she can't get out of her current clothes fast enough and into this dress.  She has worn it to bed and worn it dirty many times because she sees it going into the washing machine when she helps me load it up.  The odd thing is that Nyla really loved this dress as well.  Even though it is sized 6-12 months, Nyla wore it until Cora was born and maybe a few times afterward.  I have another dress in the same style by the same company but it isn't a favorite. 





Cora also likes the same orange teddy bear that Nyla used to carry around when she was one.  She doesn't love it as much as Nyla did but it is a strange coincidence.  While Nyla would just carry it in her hand, Cora likes to chew on it.  I had to take it away from her.  Nyla also loves to chew on small Playmobil wheels and the long cannon arrows.


We've had a lot going on this week with Easter preparations, a visit from friends, drywall installation, yard work, Bodhin's speech appointments, and a million other things. 




Today was the neighborhood Easter egg hunt.  The past two years it rained but today was miraculously sunny.  The ground was not overly wet since it hasn't rained in over 24 hours.  There were a lot of people there and I bet a good portion were not from our neighborhood.  We did meet one little five year old girl from our neighborhood that I'm going to try to meet again.  She doesn't live very far away and she seems like a very sweet girl.  After the egg hunt she looked in Cora's basket and saw she only had three eggs.  The girl took an egg from her basket and put it in Cora's basket.  Next week is spring break for the public schools but we will hopefully meet up with them the following week when they are back from vacation.

Nyla has been complaining of off and on stomach pain since yesterday afternoon.  After the egg hunt she complained of an upset stomach and headache.  She spent a good portion of the day watching tv and the other portion running around playing.  Buddy spent the evening trying to get the garden into shape.  It will be a smaller garden this year but it should be deer proof.  Because of that I expect a bigger yield than last year even though the space will be smaller. 



We bought a used riding mower last week but it doesn't have mulching capability right now so there is a lot of dead grass clippings.  Bohdin and I raked some of it up but it's a huge job.  We have nearly an acre so it's a lot of raking.  Bohdin enjoyed molding the grass and making nests for the Easter bunny to use as hiding places. 


Cora has begun the "no" phase.  The answer to most requests or questions is a very curt "no".  She was attempting to walk down the basement steps on Friday like a big kid and I told her to be careful.  Her reply was no.  She made it down the steps that time but the next time she tumbled all the way down.  She wasn't hurt but she was quite sad.  Unfortunately it didn't seem to teach her a lesson.  She still wants to go down the stairs forward facing.  I would not call her a cautious child or a particularly obedient one.
