The new area is a planned community with tons of playgrounds. Bohdin and Nyla are enjoying the search in this area as we sample so many places. I'm tired of looking.

Parade of Playgrounds
Sunday evening we went to look at a waterfront house that was at the upper range of our target rental price. On paper it was everything we thought we wanted but we didn't like it. A big part of the problem is the quality of house we can afford in the area. This house was old and the kitchen had never really been updated. That means that the modern(ish) refrigerator was too big for the space and partly blocked the doorway. There was no dishwasher. Many of the outlets were two prong. We thought it might be fun to take advantage of the water while we are here but it turns out that the water isn't a big enough draw for us to overlook the quality of the house. I've focused the search to west of base now. Unfortunately, that area seems to be quite pricey as well. There is a reason we are receiving so much for our housing allowance. It is almost impossible to find a single family house for under $2000. There are areas where the money stretches a bit further but those communities are in undesirable locations such as near the prison.
